Ganpati Bappa Morya!

Ganpati Bappa Morya!

He is the remover of obstacles and the provider of strength, he is the ‘Sukhakarta’ and the ‘Dukhaharta’. We all know his power and have heard tales of his marvels, he is feared by all, but beyond that he is loved by all and worshipped with due respect.
Ganesh Chaturthi has always been a special occasion for all Indians and is celebrated with much respect, enthusiasm and devotion. And Vijay Dinanath Chauhan is no exception to this. Vijay was feared by many, yet he prayed to seek blessings of Ganpati bappa to put an end to his evil enemies. He celebrated the occasion with complete faith and enthusiasm with the entire ‘mohalla’ and his dear ones Kali and Shiksha.

“Yun to mooshak sawari teri
Sab pe hai pehredaari teri
Paap ki aandhiyaan na kaha
Kabhi jyoti na haari teri
Apni taqdeer ka woh, khud sikander huaa re
Bhool ke yeh jahaan re, kiski silien ya haare
Saath paaya tera hey

Deva Shree Ganesha”

Yes, it was Vijay’s devotion that made him triumph in the end! So let’s seek the blessings of Deva Shree Ganesha, here- http://bit.ly/DevaShreeGaneshaFullSong

Nandini Raichand - The Ideal Indian wife

In a relationship, we tend to argue but sooner or later leave all our differences behind and make peace with each other. Yes, the relationships we build with our family, our friends, our partners are the ones which eventually make us complete.

For Nandini Raichand, her family was her life and loving them was her ultimate goal in life. She loved her husband, Yashvardhan and both her sons, Rahul & Rohan. Where Nandini was warm and respected her children’s decision, Yashvardhan was more of an authoritative person and always wanted his family to follow the rules and traditions set by his forefathers. When Rahul married Anjali without Yashvardhan’s consent, Yashvardhan abandoned them. Nandini was heartbroken yet followed Yashvardhan’s decision. Her burst of anger is summarized perfectly in one line she says; “Mera pati sirf pati hai, parmeshwar nahi”. That one line makes her husband realize what he has done. No theatrics, no arguments and no passive aggressive statements, just one heartfelt emotional line.

Relationships are not war, nor are they competitions where there will be one winner and one loser, relationships are a combination of love, companionship, trust and above all honesty. It’s the honesty Nandani and Yash have in their relationship that makes it one of the best on-screen husband and wife portrayal. It helped that it was played by one of the greatest real life couples of Bollywood, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. What do you think? What is the most important thing in a relationship?

The Cucking Frazy Side of Meeta!

Have you ever wondered what it feels like being someone who is different, someone who loves to live his life on his/her terms. Well, we all have some weird tendencies, weird habits that we’re not too proud of, or those that we’re open and unabashed about.

However, there are some who do not shy away from showing their real self to the world. Meeta from ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ was one such a person! The manic, mental and super intelligent Meeta showcased her quirks with her love for consuming toothpaste, her inability to control the blinking of her eyes, her constant nose-twitching and overall restlessness. From a tomboy to an intelligent girl speaking Mandarin, Meeta was this beautiful girl any guy would fall for. We’d say Parineeti Chopra was the perfect pick to play Meeta, wouldn’t you agree?

Catch the different avatars of Mental Meeta in this Cucking Frazy video:

Parents ka funda!

Kabir Thapar aka Bunny conveniently qualifies as the easy going guy; but he seldom shares his inner thoughts...even with Avi & Aditi. But with Naina, Bunny can be himself. He can share his fears, regrets, dreams with her! Just like Bunny made Naina realize her beauty, Naina became the reason for Bunny to express himself.
Of the many beautiful moments between Bunny and Naina, this one’s a deleted scene while exploring Udaipur. Bunny compliments Naina on her equation with her mother & regrets how he had never shared that comfort level with his dad.

Isn’t this something each one of us face while growing up?
Naina then shares ‘Parents ka Funda.’ Parents are happy when we are happy! “Kisi se kuch milne se badi khushi hai.. unhe kuch dene me!”

Naina also asks Bunny to share his most favorite thing with her but Bunny, being attached to his dreams, couldn’t. Though when he asks Naina to do the same, she shared her Ganesh idol with him without blinking!

Be Yourself!

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai…

The very mention of the movie brings back many emotions, falling in love with the characters, those favorite scenes and dialogues, the times we’ve cried and fallen in love with the film. Undoubtedly, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai shall remain one of the most special films to us.

When Rahul narrates the tale of his friendship to his daughter, he introduces her saying,

“Anjali… Doosri ladkiyon ki tarah toh thi hi nahin. Who toh bas hum ladko jaisi thi. Pata hai? Sab ladkiya make up karti thi aur Anjali… Anjali basketball khelti thi. Aur kapde, who mere jaise pehenti thi! Haan sach! Jhalli thi meri Anjali, sajna, sawarna, khoobsurat lagna, yeh sab toh uska aata hi nahin tha.”

Yes, that’s exactly how Anjali Sharma was in college, Rahul’s best friend. Until Tina arrived and Rahul started falling in love with her, just like Anjali started realizing her love for Rahul. And then we all know what crazy things loves makes us do!

Voila! The tomboy Anjali Sharma was all girly the next day in college to everyone’s surprise. She wanted to be liked, she wanted to be accepted, and she wanted to look beautiful just like Tina. But people laughed at her, Rahul laughed the hardest. But he also reminded her, “Tum bahut khoobsurat ho, kyunki tum sabse zyaada alag ho. At least tum un stupid ladkiyon ki tarah toh nahin ho jinke peechhe main bhaagta hoon!”

That’s all about it, we are loved and accepted for who we are and if learn to be comfortable in our skin and respect our differences! that’s the way to be, that’s what life teaches us, that’s what our movies teach us! :)

World Photography Day!

With the advent of DSLRs, digi-cams and smart phones, photography is a readily accessible medium for the common man to showcase his skills. On social media platforms like Instagram, everyone seems to be trying their hand at an art that seemed very restricted before. From funny ‘selfies’ to serious portfolio shoots, photogtaphy endows an individual with the power to capture and preserve the memory of a special moment in just one click.
In Wake Up Sid, Sid’s passion for photography is portrayed beautifully. For every photographer, the lens of his camera is the medium he uses to connect with the world. Sid was also sailing in the same boat. Sid's perspective of Mumbai was completely different to that of a regular person. According to Sid's mother, Sid inherited his love for photography from his father. This inherent skill made him fall in love with life around him.

On this World Photography day, cheers to all the amazing photographers who capture moments and emotions instead of people and things!

Happy Birthday Saif Ali Khan!

There’s an old saying – “The older the wine, the better it is”. Somewhat similar, is the ever youthful. Saif Ali Khan, who we lovingly call ‘Rohit Patel’ from ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’! Saif is undoubtedly one of the hottest men in town with a rather striking attitude; and that is what makes him special!
We love how Saif gives Rohit a personal touch- the sweet boy next door, the friend for life, the fun chilled person; his humor, his style and his charm are enough to sweep all the ladies off their feet. This is just the beginning.
Rohit was Naina’s best friend, the guy with a good heart. He slowly becomes the man who loves her, and the husband who stays by her side as her best friend till the end of their time. Saif adds a lot of charm and style to the character - Rohit. We’re sure, when you reminisce about Kal Ho Naa Ho you’ll have many memories of Rohit to enjoy!
As he turns a year older and wiser, here’s wishing more love, success, movie magic and power to Saif Ali Khan! Celebrate with us by sharing your favorite Saif Ali Khan scene from Dharma movies in the comments section below.

Happy birthday Saif Ali Khan! :)

Happy Birthday Ayan Mukerji!

Every movie has been a celebration for Dharma Productions, every director special. Today we're celebrating the life of one such special director. Happy birthday Ayan Mukerji! The two films which he has directed, both for Dharma Movies- Wake Up Sid! and Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani are extremely special to us.
Wake Up Sid! is a celebration of growing up and self-discovery. Sid's character is based on the youth of today and a little on Ayan as well. Being a rebel, going all out and living life to the fullest, making friends, discovering love all while we go through this incredible journey - life. Ayan has beautifully moulded these thoughts into a cult film.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani goes deeper. Ayan, expresses his love for life through the film. Ayan's films are known to touch emotional chords. Through Bunny's dreams and determination, Naina's love and selflessness and Aditi and Avi's friendship, Ayan gives the world a glimpse of the small, simple joys of life.
We're glad to have Ayan Mukerji as a Director at Dharma.
We’re waiting with baited breath for his next with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt!

Mera Bharat Mahaan!

On the eve of Independence day, meet Anjali from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. A patriot by choice; Anjali took immense pride in being an Indian. She’d go any distance to stand by her pride, her culture and traditions.
Even when Anjali relocated to London with Rahul, she ensured that she followed her Indian ways of life and continued celebrating festivals like Karva Chaut. She also taught her son in the film, Krish the importance of family and core Indian values. No matter what anyone else said, she was steadfast with her belief, “Mera Bharat Mahaan”.
Her efforts didn’t go waste either; Krish surprised his mother by singing the Indian National Anthem at his school function with his friends in London.

6 Din Ladki In

Aman had a solution to everything- for Dadi and her friends’ singing rehearsals, for Shiv’s desire to play basketball, for bringing together Jiya’s broken family and to fix Naina and Rohit’s broken heart by bringing them closer in Kal Ho Naa Ho.
He just wouldn’t let Rohit give up on his love for Naina. He did everything possible to ensure they came together even though he loved Naina. Aman helped Rohit win Naina’s love!
Aman had a simple funda about girls, “The more you run away from them, the more they shall chase you to get your attention.” Here’s Aman’s six day plan to help him get the girl of his dreams!

‘6 Din, Ladki In’

Day I: Sit next to her but don’t talk to her
Day 2: Don’t talk to her again today and sit elsewhere to make her jealous.
Day 3: Don’t meet her today. She’ll try calling you, curse you and then go off to sleep.
Day 4: Have a cool attitude, walk casually; Talk to her confidently and pour your heart out.
Day 5: Flirt with her & gift her something really elegant
Day 6: Spend time with her even if it's joining salsa classes, tell her how you feel

That's all it took for Naina to realize that Rohit had become more than just a friend.

8 years of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna!

8 years ago, we celebrated the release of our film, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. The film boasted of a star studded cast, that included Bollywood Superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, along with Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and Kirron Kher. After the success of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Karan Johar’s third directorial venture touched the topic of extra marital affairs.

Is love about righteousness alone? Was Dev supposed to pull through a terrible marriage? Was Maya expected to compromise because of her marriage in spite of finding love in the form of Dev? Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna explores a journey of love that goes beyond the boundaries of righteousness

You might not agree with the character’s stance in the movie; they break societal barriers. But in the end love triumphs over all. The biggest success of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna was the fact that the film became the highest overseas grosser when it released, and the love kept growing. Today, as we celebrate the 8thanniversary of its release, all we want to say is keep the love coming and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna!
